Mildly toxic by ingestion, inhalation, and subcutaneous routes. Exposure to concentrations of about 1000 ppm for 1 hour can cause headache, fatigue, pulmonary irritation, and serious toxicity effects. Highly flammable liquid when exposed to heat or flame; can react vigorously with reducing materials. Moderately explosive in the form of vapor when exposed to heat or flame. To fight fire, use alcohol foam, CO2, dry chemical. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and fumes.
