Poison by intravenous route. A powerful nitrating agent when dissolved in sulfolane. Incompatible with tetrahydrothiophene-1,1-dioxide, organics, α-propanol, methane, ethane @ −78° or higher. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of F− and NOx. See also BORON COMPOUNDS.
