Safety
Poison by subcutaneous, intracerebral, and parenteral routes. Moderately toxic by intraperitoneal and intravenous routes. Human systemic effects: meningeal changes to spinal cord. An experimental teratogen. Experimental reproductive effects. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of I− and NOx.
