Poison by intravenous route. Moderately toxic by ingestion, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal routes. Human systemic effects: paresthesia, wakefulness, hallucinations, distorted perceptions, pulse rate increase. Experimental reproductive effects. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NO_x and HCl.
