Ingestion causes nausea, vomiting, dizziness, excitation, and convulsions. Mutation data reported. Used as a topical anti-infective and anti-itching agent. Flammable liquid when exposed to heat or flame; can react with oxidizing materials. Vapor is explosive when exposed to heat or flame or CrO₃. To fight fire, use foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical.
