Poison by ingestion, subcutaneous, and possibly other routes. Moderately toxic via intravenous and intraperitoneal routes. Mutation data reported. A sedative, hypnotic, and central nervous system depressant. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of NOx and Br.
