Safety

Poison by ingestion and subcutaneous routes. Human systemic effects: blood pressure lowering, change in motor activity, muscle weakness. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Tl and I⁻. See also IODIDES and THALLIUM COMPOUNDS.
