Safety
Poison by intramuscular and subcutaneous routes. When Theophylline methoxyoximercuri-propyl succinylurea (CAS NO.8069-64-5) is heated to decomposition, it emits very toxic fumes of Hg and NOx. Used as a diuretic. See also MERCURY COMPOUNDS, INORGANIC; MERCURY COMPOUNDS, ORGANIC and THEOPHYLLINE.
