A human poison by ingestion. Poison experimentally by ingestion and intraperitoneal routes. Moderately toxic to humans by an unspecified route. Human systemic effects by: blood effects, fever, hepatitis, hepatocellular necrosis, dermatitis, allergic effects, other skin effects, nausea or vomiting, tubule changes, urine volume decrease, interstitial nephritis. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes. Used to treat angina pectoris.
