Safety

Poison by intraperitoneal route. Moderately toxic by ingestion. Experimental teratogenic data. Human systemic effects by ingestion: dermatitis. Human reproductive effects by unspecified routes: death of fetus, stillbirth, and poor viability. Human teratogenic effects by unspecified routes include developmental abnormalities of the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system, and urogenital system. Other experimental teratogenic and reproductive effects. Questionable human carcinogen producing spinal cord and skin tumors. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Cl⁻ and NO_x.
