Profile: Teco Tecnica Ecologica, S.A. offers natural pigments such as bixin, norbixin & carotenoids. We extract curcumin from curcuma longa rhizomes. These colorants produce clean bright hues used for coloring margarine, cheese, ice cream, snacks, bakery products, and cosmetics. Annatto & turmeric are two naturally used colorants. Bixin, norbixin & curcumin, produce bright hues used by the food industry. Annatto is a natural colorant derived from the seeds of a tropical bush named Bixa orellana. Curcuma longa contains a yellow-colored pigment known as curcumin & also an orange-colored oleoresin. Pigments are separated from flavor to be appropriate for use in foods such as cereals, boiled sweets, baked products, fish fingers, dairy products, biscuits, and gelatines. In combination with annatto, curcumin has been used to color cheeses, dry mixes, salad dressings, butter and margarine.
