Profile: Carmin del Elqui S.A offers jojoba oil and aloe vera products. Jojoba oil is used for treating sores, cuts, bruises, burns, as a hair & scalp treatment and hair restorative. The chemical structure of jojoba oil is a polyunsaturated liquid wax that is similar to sperm whale oil. It is made of fatty acids, as well as esters composed entirely of straight chain alcohols. As a wax, jojoba oil is specially useful for applications that require moisture control, protection, and emolliency. Jojoba oil is liquid at room temperature because of its unsaturated fatty acids. As a cosmetic, it is an effective cleanser, conditioner, moisturizer and softener for skin & hair. It is applied directly to the skin to soften the skin, to reduce wrinkles & stretch marks, to lighten & help to heal scars and to promote healthy scalp & hair. Jojoba oil does not plug the skin pores. It can accumulate around hair roots, thereby conditioning hair and preventing it from becoming brittle & dull. The extraction process has an inbuilt first filtering system that is followed by a period of 1 to 2 weeks for natural decanting of any solid particles. Our method is the use of vertical presses that press slowly without reaching high temperatures. The oil is extracted cold. We let the oil decant and then place it in containers. We develop an aloe vera plantation with the purpose of producing natural products.
