It is also used in formulating lubricants, softeners, paint and resin industries & dyeing assistants. potassium carbonate is a white salt, soluble in water, & insoluble in alcohol, which forms a strongly alkaline solution. Potassium carbonate is used in the production of special glass, fertilizer, potassium silicate, detergent, and in gas purification. Potassium carbonate (food grade) is widely used in pharmaceutical and food industries especially for making dried fruit such as raisins.
